After the Gathering 2009
Based upon the enthusiasm that was so clearly displayed over the weekend in Edinburgh it would appear that the Gathering was a huge success, both for Scotland and more specifically the Clan MacLennan.
We were all quite proud to walk with the Clan up the Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle. Not only did we have a much larger number of Clansfolk than expected, but our ranks were filled with a large proportion of younger people and we were clearly on of the more vibrant Clans. Clearly showing our ability to have fun, we were led in song and shouts by boisterous MacLennans from Australia and Canada.
Our Clan tent over the weekend was buzzing and those that kindly helped man it (including our Chief) were run off their feet. We had a terrific number of visitors to the tent and from looking around at many of the other Clan tents, it was clear to many that ours was the one to be at, not purely as a result of the Whiskey!
A heartfelt thank you to those who helped make the weekend the resounding success that is was.
